Who is this house intended for?
This house is intended for Master’s and doctoral (DPhil) students, postgraduate students, visiting professors, and academic researchers who are looking for a quiet and respectful living environment that supports focused work and study.
Are there any additional fees or charges?
No. The rent is fully inclusive. There are no agency fees, no inventory charges, no check-in or check-out fees, no utility top-ups, and no additional household contributions.
The only exception relates to overnight guests. An additional charge may apply for guests staying overnight, to ensure fairness andcomfort for all residents.
Aside from this, the monthly rent stated is the total amount payable, with no hidden or unexpected costs.
What type of tenancy or agreement is offered?
For longer-term stays, accommodation is offered under an Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST), in line with UK regulations.
For shorter-term or transitional stays, a Licence to Occupy may be used where appropriate.
What is the typical length of stay?
The house is intended for medium-to long-term academic stays.
Minimum terms are usually aligned with academic cycles, and longer stays are encouraged where possible. Short term stays are possible.
Are international students and visiting academics welcome?
Yes. International Master’s and doctoral students, visiting professors, and academic researchers are very welcome. Clear documentation and transparent processes are provided throughout.
How are viewings arranged?
The first step is an initial conversation with the landlord to confirm that the house is a good fit for both sides.
With mutual agreement, prospective residents are then introduced to the current house members and invited to a viewing. Viewings can be arranged by video or in person for those already in Oxford.
Are there household expectations or guidelines?
Yes. The household operates on shared expectations around noise, cleanliness, and mutual respect, to maintain a calm and academicallyfocused environment.
What happens if I wish to extend or renew my stay?
Returning residents are prioritised for extensions or renewals, subject to availability and mutual agreement.
Is smoking permitted in the house?
No. This is a non-smoking household, including all indoor areas and shared spaces. Smoking is permitted outside in the garden.
Are undergraduate students accepted?
The household is designed primarily for postgraduate and academic residents. Undergraduate students may be considered where the academic fit and household environment are appropriate.
